Pineapples

Who would have thought it, a pineapple plant that can withstand the NZ
climate. We were told that these fruit are sweeter than shop bought
ones and that you can plant them anywhere. Ummm we shall see. Although
this one looks like a good plant and has at least three offshoots
already so does this mean that we get three more pineapples?

Spiky cactus garden

Here's Sophie in her pjs gardening early Sunday morning. This is just

Veggie garden under construction

Here's a picture of the four new beds made today. As mentioned before
these are made from old pallets. The next stage will be putting them
in place and filling with soil and compost. The weedmat can then be
cut and pinned down.

Making veggie gardens

Here's Sophie tearing pallets apart (almost with her bare hands) ready
to make veggie gardens for our new area. This area has now got a fence
to keep the cats and chickens out.

Full instructions on how to make these relatively free gardens on
another day.
